A perception-shifting brand for Hulme Grammar School
A new management team at Hulme Grammar School were making significant changes to prepare the school for the future. They turned to us to reflect this change in a new brand to shift perceptions of the school in the local community and broaden the school’s appeal to new markets.
The first significant challenge we knew we had to address was the long and confusing school name. We dropped ‘Oldham’ to become Hulme Grammar School and created bold HGS monogram. The monogram is flexible and changes shape to suit the context – from social through to billboards.
We designed and built a new school website to support the rebrand. The site is more visual and engaging and intuitive to navigate.

The rebrand touched every part of the identity – from colours to typography – and was rolled out across print and digital touch points.
